Bloomin’ Brands, a Tampa-based restaurant giant and one of the largest casual dining restaurant companies in the world, has promoted longtime employee Sheilina Henry to president of Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar.
Henry will be responsible for leading operations and development for the company's fine dining brand known for serving prime steak and uniquely curated wine dinners, say company officials in a Friday news release. Henry's promotion comes at a time when Bloomin' Brands seeks to open more of Fleming's steak restaurants.
Henry also comes to the role at a busy time for Fleming's: The chain is redesigning its look nationwide, including its flagship location in Tampa and a ground-up one in east Manatee County, in a former Ruby Tuesday's.
"Sheilina's extensive background in operations and her drive and passion for excellence will help create a meaningful impact at this exceptional brand," says David Deno, Bloomin' Brands CEO, in the statement. "New restaurant growth is a priority at Fleming's, and it is as close as the new flagship location that recently broke ground across the street from the Restaurant Support Center in Tampa."
Henry has more than 20 years of experience in restaurant operations, training and project management, according to the company and her LinkedIn profile.
Henry joined Bloomin' Brands in 2012 as an Outback Steakhouse joint venture partner. She was promoted to vice president for training and development in 2016. In 2019, she was made regional vice president of operations in 2019 and later group vice president of Bloomin' Brands' Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in 2020. Henry also added the leadership role for off-premises dining to her SVP responsibilities. the company says.
Bloomin' Brands, traded on NASDAQ, runs four brands: Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. The company owns and operates more than 1,450 restaurants in 47 states, Guam and 13 countries.
