As the open date for Becker's new Bradenton office draws near, the law firm announced two shareholders will join its Florida community association practice.

Mary Hawk and Bryony Swift will be based out of the new office when it opens in September. The duo will also practice out of the firm’s Sarasota office, a press release states.

The commercial law firm has offices in Florida, New York, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. Within Florida, there are offices in Naples, Fort Myers, Sarasota and Tampa. The new location, No. 12 in Florida for the firm, will be at 1001 3rd Avenue West in downtown Bradenton.

Hawk brings in 25 years of experience in the Sarasota and Bradenton area with a focus on mediation and litigation in condominium and homeowner association law, probate litigation, landlord/tenant law and mobile home law.

A Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator and certified arbitrator, Hawk also served as the 2022 president of the Community Association Institute’s West Florida Chapter. She currently is the president of Friends of DeSoto National Memorial.

With 10 years of experience in advising community associations in Southwestern Florida, Swift has experience litigating complex commercial and real property matters from intake through post-trial motions, as well as experience with class action litigation.

“Mary and Bryony bring a wealth of experience in community association law as well as mediation and litigation", Kenneth Direktor, chair of Becker’s Community Association Practice, says in the release, “which will be of assistance to clients as well as our growing, collegial team of top-notch professionals throughout West Florida.”
