A Sarasota-based physical therapy franchise has had a good first half of 2023, with the opening of 31 new clinics and 48 franchise deals — all within the first half of 2023.

The company, Fyzical Therapy and Balance Centers, now has over 500 locations across 45 state. Of the nearly 50 franchise deals secured, nine represent new areas, seven are expansions and 32 are new agreements, according to a statement.

Due to this growth, the company ranked No. 240 on the 2023 Franchise 500 list put together by Entrepreneur magazine. And for the third year it was named a top recession-proof business by Franchise Business Review.

"We take tremendous pride in the remarkable growth and accolades we've achieved so far this year at Fyzical," Brian Belmont, CEO, says in the release. He adds that with the company's decade of franchising experience, Fyzical is able to provide support to franchisees.

The company is actively looking for franchisees in Kansas City, Minneapolis, Indianapolis, Detroit, Philadelphia, Boston and more. According to its website, the initial investment for building and opening a new Fyzical franchise clinic costs between $191,750 and $479,000. The estimated clinic conversion, where franchisees convert a building into a clinic, investment is only $60,250 to $159,000. The average center in 2022 generated more than $1 million in revenue.
