Southwest Florida accounting firm Hughes, Snell & Co. P.A. has named Steven Davis managing shareholder.

Davis replaces Sharon Thompson in the role at the Fort Myers-based firm, according to a statement. Thompson, managing shareholder since 2009, will continue as a shareholder and leader at HSC, and will continue serving her clients, the release adds. Thompson, the first female managing shareholder in HSC’s nearly 50-year history, collaborated with Frank Snell — the firm’s first managing shareholder — to transfer the first generation of HSC leadership to the second generation.

Davis, meanwhile, has been with HSC since 2000. He has served as firm general services shareholder and works with a broad range of clients on tax and financial reporting issues.

“My vision for HSC is to maintain the good reputation that the firm has earned over nearly 50 years while continuing to bring solid planning and advice to our clients in a fast paced and ever changing environment,” Davis says in the release. “I hope to continue providing the solid leadership that Frank Snell, Sharon Thompson and the HSC shareholders have demonstrated consistently through changing times.”

Hughes, Snell & Co. is a full-service accounting firm founded in 1974.
