A Sarasota business has gone national with the sale of its first licensed outpost.
The newest Purify: An Urban Sweat Lodge location opened in Little Falls, New Jersey. Samantha Albano founded the urban sweat lodge in 2018 on South Pineapple Avenue in Sarasota.
Now with a new business partner, Richard Karp, the pair sold a license to Nicole Lobosco and Nick Freda, the owners of the New Jersey boutique. After their first Purify session in March 2021, Lobosco and Freda were set on bringing the concept to Little Falls.
The business concept grew from Albano’s need to quell aches and pains from playing volleyball in college. So she created a company offering Far-Infrared, a type of radiation detox that allows the body to sweat out heavy metals, toxins and pathogens, that would benefit herself directly.
“I never saw this happening in my wildest dreams when I opened the doors to Purify, An Urban Sweat Lodge in 2018,” Albano says in a press release. “This growth is exhilarating, and I can't say it doesn't come without blood, sweat, and tears. Nonetheless, the day is finally here.”
