Polk County is about to get a new membership warehouse club, with a BJ’s in Davenport.
The store will open this Friday, according to a statement, at 6360 Grandview Parkway. It will have a BJ’s Gas on site, the release adds. The store marks No. 236 for the company nationwide and No. 36 in Florida.
“Bringing BJ’s one-stop-shop experience into the Davenport community is a wonderful way to kick off 2023,” said Theodore Kyriakidis, club manager of Davenport’s BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We couldn’t be more eager to engage with our smart-saving families in the area, welcome them to this brand-new location, and continue to build upon our strong presence in Florida.”
BJ’s includes a selection of fresh foods, produce, a full-service deli, household essentials, pet supplies, various exclusive offerings and more.
The opening also includes support, from the BJ’s Charitable Foundation, through both monetary and food donations, of The Boys & Girls Club of Polk County, the release adds.
“The Boys & Girls Club of Polk County warmly welcomes BJ’s Wholesale Club to the Davenport community and as a partner to our organization,” Boys & Girls Club President Steve Giordano says in the release. “We're very thankful to receive their support. Our youth rely on our nine Boys and Girls Clubs in Polk County, and we could not support them without partners like BJ's. We can't wait for BJ's Wholesale Club to open its doors to the families within this special neighborhood.”
Through a food rescue partnership, BJ’s Wholesale Club also donates unsold perishable food to Feeding America member food banks in its footprint. In Davenport, BJ’s food bank partner is Feeding Tampa Bay.
Headquartered in Marlborough, Massachusetts, BJ’s Wholesale Club Holdings Inc. is a leading operator of membership warehouse clubs in the eastern United States. Since pioneering the warehouse club model in New England in 1984, the company currently operates 235 clubs and 164 BJ’s Gas locations in 18 states.
