Eastern Architectural Systems, a Fort Myers-based impact-resistant window and door manufacturer, primarily serving the Florida repair and remodel market, has been sold.

Cary, North Carolina-based Cornerstone Building Brands Inc. acquired EAS, according to a statement. Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Cornerstone officials say the acquisition expands the company’s impact-resistant product offering while also increasing its presence in the Florida region. "EAS is an excellent strategic fit for Cornerstone Building Brands and advances our strategy to increase exposure to high-growth regions with value-add products," Cornerstone President CEO Rose Lee says in the statement.

Cornerstone Building Brands is one of the largest manufacturers of exterior building products by sales for residential and low-rise non-residential buildings in North America. Its distribution platform and expansive national footprint include more than 20,000 employees at manufacturing, distribution and office locations throughout North America.

Eastern Architectural Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eastern Metal Supply, according to its website. The company was founded by Susie Walsh, Greg Weekes and Glen Magaldi in 1982.
