Medical, Laser, & Surgical Care of Vision and Eye Diseases, a Venice eye practice, has been acquired.

The company that bought the practice is Eye Health America, an integrated eye care platform based in Greenville, South Carolina. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Medical, Laser, & Surgical Care of Vision and Eye Diseases, known as MLSCVED, has been delivering ophthalmic services since 1999, according to a statement. “Our partnership with Eye Health America will be an optimal working environment, enhancing the excellent care we provide with the latest technologies and procedures, " says Dr. Mark Johnson with MLSCVED in the statement.

This is the 23rd acquisition Eye Health America has made since it was founded in 2018. “Partnering with Dr. Johnson aligns with our patient-centered values, enhancing our growth in Southwest Florida,” EHA co-CEO John Swencki says in the statement.

EHA has 96 physicians across 53 locations, 10 ambulatory surgical centers, and over 1,200 employees in South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. Its practices include Tampa Bay Eye Surgery Center.
