Boat supply store sets sail for Sarasota

A yacht and marine supply company is sailing across the state with the announcement of its eighth store. 

Boat Owners Warehouse is expanding into Sarasota, which is the company's first Gulf Coast location in Florida. It’s located at 7522 S. Tamiami Trail. 

"After over four decades of serving Florida Atlantic coast anglers and boat owners, we're excited to open our first Gulf Coast location in the state," Kathy Miceli, VP of retail operations, says in a release. Miceli adds that the Sarasota location has the same service, product line and competitive pricing as the rest of the locations. 

The 15,000-square-foot building is stocked with 2,500 square feet of fishing equipment and tackle. While the Sarasota location is officially open, the company is planning a grand opening for Oct. 6. Boat Owners Warehouse has been around for 44 years. It mostly serves Florida, but has one location in Alabama.
