A new 78-home community has been announced in Nokomis, a town bordered by Sarasota and Venice.

Cassata Lakes, the project being led by U.S. homebuilder M/I Homes, will feature two home series. The River series includes homes ranging in size from 2,195 to 3,521 square feet. The Spring series will be a little bigger with 4,644-square-foot homes.

The homebuilder expects a public grand opening of the Crystal home model, which is already under construction, in January 2024. The model features four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a three-car garage.

Additionally, the Fort Myers and Naples division of M/I Homes named a new director of sales who will oversee this project, as well the Vistera of Venice community and the Hammocks at West Port, an existing community in Port Charlotte that was the first community launched in the Fort Myers/Naples division.

Andrew Simac comes to the role with 28 years of industry experience. Simac isn’t new to the company as he previously worked in the Chicago division as the area sales manager. In that role, Simac oversaw a growth of nearly 700 sales annually.

“New communities, like Cassata Lakes, have the potential to thrive in this market,” Simac says in a release, “and I'm looking forward to contributing to that growth.”
