A Miami-based cafe is expanding into Sarasota as one of the newest tenants at the University Town Center.

Pura Vida, known for its nutritious menu, will open a 2,000-square-foot space in the West District of UTC along Cattlemen Road. It’s expected to open in the first quarter of 2024.

The menu at Pura Vida features avocado toasts, pasture-raised egg sandwiches, bagels, acai bowls, wraps, sandwiches, salads and bowls, according to a statement.

UTC, a mixed-use Benderson Development project just off Interstate 75 and University Parkway, has more than 250 retail stores, 80 restaurants, three hotels and 250,000 square feet of office space operating within the development. The cafe is one of many new additions at UTC that are coming soon, including:

  • Naked Farmer, a farm-to-fork concept
  • Foxtail Coffee Co.
  • The Breakfast Company
  • J.Crew Factory
  • REI Co-op, specialty outdoor retailer
  • Drybar, a salon
  • Blu Kouzina, a Greek restaurant
