Chris Mitchell has been named COO of Estero-based J.R. Evans Engineering, after being promoted from a vice president of  operations role.

In his new role, Mitchell will oversee the day-to-day operations and management of the company. Based in Estero, the company, according to a statement, specializes in floodplain and stormwater-related engineering. “This is a new challenge and brings excitement especially as we shift our manpower to resiliency, which is a hot topic," Mitchell says in the release.

Mitchell, 51, formerly owned his own company, Mitchell Engineering. He joined J.R. Evans Engineering in 2015 when the two companies merged. As COO, Mitchell will be responsible for ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, "with a continued emphasis on delivering high-quality products and services expected from clients," according to the statement. Mitchell will also work closely with the rest of the executive team to develop and execute the firm's long-term strategy, with a focus on growth and innovation.

“He has played a critical role in expanding our capabilities and helping us achieve our strategic goals,” Josh Evans, president of J.R. Evans Engineering, says in the release. “With his wealth of experience in the industry and his commitment to excellence, we have no doubt that he will continue to lead our company to new heights in his new role as COO.”
