Downtown Sarasota is about to open a new tropical cocktail bar and kitchen.

Bar Hana is expected to open April 7. The bar falls under the Hi Hospitality Group umbrella and is sister to Kojo, a Sarasota dining establishment.

The bar and kitchen will feature tropical greenery inside to complement a few of the bar’s cocktails that come in vintage tiki glasses. The new space leaves room for 30 or more guests in a separate private dining and event room as well.

The cocktail menu, which was put together by award-winning beverage director David Roth and his team, incorporates fresh juices, spices and spirits, according to a press release.

The menu’s dishes, curated by Culinary Director Hart Lowry and his team, bring in flavors from Asia to Hawaii and include signature dishes like coconut and habanero ceviche, lava wings and taro nachos.

Bar Hana and Kojo are located adjacent to each other on Palm Avenue. The Hi Hospitality Group also owns and operates Speaks Clam Bar, Palm Ave Deli and Central Park St. Pete Food Hall.
