In response to the approach of Hurricane Ian, the Tampa Bay Rowdies have rescheduled their Sept. 28 home match vs. El Paso Locomotive FC to Oct. 12. Kickoff time is 7:30 p.m.
According to an email sent to ticket holders, all tickets for the Sept. 28 match will automatically be updated for the new date. Some tickets might still show the original date, but they will be honored.
Ticket holders who cannot attend the Oct. 12 match can exchange their tickets for one of the team’s two remaining home matches, on Oct. 8 or 15.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are slated to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, Oct. 2, but moved the entire team and support staff to Miami to avoid the storm. The Bucs planned to practice at the Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Complex in Miami Gardens this week but have yet to announce whether Sunday’s game will take place at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa as scheduled.
“The NFL, in consultation with team and local officials, will continue to monitor the situation,” the team states on its website.
The Tampa Bay Rays, meanwhile, played their final home game of the season on Sunday, Sept. 25, losing 7-1 to the Toronto Blue Jays; however, the team announced that, because of Hurricane Ian, it will push back the start of postseason ticket sales to 10 a.m. on Oct. 5.
