A Miami developer is planning to build 376 apartments and townhouses on 39 acres in St. Petersburg.

The development, which will be on Gandy Boulevard just off the Gandy Bridge, also will include a new marina and restaurant.

Construction is expected to begin next year.

The as-yet-to-be named development will include 324 apartments on the bay and 54 rental townhouses on a 3-acre lake. An 8,000-square-foot restaurant is going to be built next to a public marina and boat slips.

Amenities will include the standard fare for multifamily projects, but along with these will be a boardwalk open to the public with exercise paths and a kayak launch.

The developer behind the project is Key International. According to its website, the company has developed more than 10 million square feet residential space and has more than 4,500 residential units in its portfolio.
