Tampa International Airport’s on-site Marriott hotel has completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its meeting and event spaces as it prepares to celebrate 50 years in business in 2023.

According to a news release, the Tampa Airport Marriott renovation included a completely new look that was created by CRA Design of Los Angeles. All 17 meeting rooms, including the 7,446-square-foot Hillsborough Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 700 people, were given a new look that incorporates curved forms, open colonnades and natural woven materials.

Other upgrades, the release states, include new carpet, vinyl and paint, as well as new meeting room tables and chairs. LED lighting has been installed throughout the spaces, in addition to RFID keycard door locks for enhanced security.

“What really sets the property apart from others in the area are the visuals it offers being at the airport,” General Manager Scott McClinton states in the release. “Meeting participants can see the terminals — including planes taking off and landing just outside the floor-to-ceiling windows around the pre-function space — which lends an exciting vibe of movement and flight.”

Including the Hillsborough Grand Ballroom, the Tampa Airport Marriott boasts a total of 25,416 square feet of meeting and event space.
