First Home Bank, St. Petersburg’s only locally owned community bank, has changed its name to BayFirst and updated its branding with a new logo.

The new name, according to a news release, was chosen to better align the bank with its holding company, BayFirst Financial Corp. (NASDAQ: BAFN), and clear up confusion regarding the bank’s products and services.

“The name BayFirst reinforces our commitment to community and our goal to become the bank of Tampa Bay,” BayFirst CEO Anthony Leo states in the release. “While we will continue to support small business owners and homebuyers across the country through our SBA and residential mortgage divisions, we remain a St. Petersburg-based, independent bank focused on making a difference in our own community and in the lives of those we serve.”

Founded in 1999, BayFirst has seven branches in the Tampa Bay area. As of the end of the first quarter of 2022, the bank had $888.54 million in total assets.
