The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina in Fort Myers has announced plans for a $7 million renovation project.

Curran Young Construction will start the project in August, according to a statement, with a projected completion date of early 2023. Enhancements will be made to 195 of the resort’s condo-style villas and studio units, encompassing 100,000 square feet.

Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina has evolved from a single cottage built in 1950 to an expansive 12-acre beach resort and marina. This renovation is a continued investment in the resort’s long-standing commitment to serving its guests and helping them create memorable experiences during their stays, the release states. “We are building for the future,” Senior Vice President of Operations Bill Waichulis says in the statement. “The goal is to provide accommodations that are worthy of our reputation — rooms that are fresh, new and clean to match the expectation of our guests.”

The updates will include the kitchens and bathrooms of its Captiva Villas and White Sands Villas, as well as the flooring and sheers in its Sanibel View Studios. The enhancements will maintain the relaxed contemporary beach style of the property and the “barefoot elegance” that has made “it a six-time Condé Nast Readers’ Choice Award winner,” the release states.

Situated along a quarter mile of private coastline and overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, Pink Shell Beach Resort & Marina features 195 condo-style villas, all with beach views. The resort amenities include a full-service marina, Aquagene Spa, kayak and standup paddleboard rentals, Chickee Hut beach rentals, ranger-led nature activities, two pools, fishing and boating excursions, WaveRunner rentals, three restaurants, private dinner on the beach, and daily activities for all ages.
