NAPLES — The Community Foundation for Collier County has changed its name to the Collier Community Foundation.
The Naples-based organization says in an email that the name change will help the CCF “better communicate our knowledge of the community, grant oversight, personalized service and the diverse populations and needs we serve.”
The foundation, according to its website, includes six areas of focus: mental health and substance abuse; housing and hunger; education and employment; crisis and disaster relief; seniors and veterans; and environment and accessibility. Its new tagline, according to a statement, is “Informed giving. Powerful results.” The tagline, foundation officials say in the release, “conveys the foundation's role in the community as the trusted leader in identifying and responding to critical needs.
“The Collier Community Foundation is a fantastic resource for not only donors but their professional advisors," says CCF Chairman Jim Morey in the release. Morey is also a managing member of Bond, Schoneck & King PLLC. "The foundation uses their knowledge of issues and resources in the community and the trust and relationships they have built with the nonprofits to match philanthropic people to the need."
The Collier Community Foundation is a tax-exempt, public, charitable fund, established in 1985 with a $300,000 endowment and a vision for increasing private philanthropy in Collier County. It now manages more than 850 funds, works with hundreds of nonprofits, holds over $281.5 million in assets and has distributed over $248.4 million in grants to nonprofits, community programs and scholarships. That includes $33.5 million in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2021.
