Community foundation elects new board members

The members will serve three-year terms.

VENICE — New members recently joined a local foundation as members of the board, kicking off a three-year term. 

Rose-Anne Frano and John Giglio began their terms March 1 on the Gulf Coast Community Foundation’s board of directors. Frano, a partner at Williams Parker Attorneys at Law where she’s been for almost 20 years, is a board certified specialist in wills, trusts and estates. Giglio, a Nokomis resident, currently is the president of Gulf View Marina Holdings.

The other members of the Gulf Coast Community Foundation Board of Directors include, Chair Pauline Wamsler, Vice Chair David Green, President and CEO Mark Pritchett, Anne Essner, Ping Faulhaber, Rod Hershberger, Tracy Knight, Lisa Krouse, Anand Pallegar, David Sessions, Peter Soderberg, Susan Sofia and Joe Stephan.

Frano is also featured on the Sarasota Orchestra board of directors, a current steering committee member for Estate Planning and Probate Section and an active Sarasota County Bar Association past chair.

As a marine industry executive, Giglio was the owner, president and CEO of Freedom Boat Club until it was sold in 2019. He currently serves as an executive board member for the SKY Family YMCA and is a Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation board member. 

The foundation was created in 1995 as a public charity through the sale of the Venice Hospital. It has invested more than $430 million in grants in areas including health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment.
