The average resale price of tickets for Tampa Bay Lightning home games during the Stanley Cup Finals has skyrocketed from $567 in 2015, when the team lost to the Chicago Blackhawks, to $1,464 this year, as the Bolts square off against the Colorado Avalanche in pursuit of their third-straight NHL championship.

According to a news release from ticketing technology company Logitix, the 2022 price is also a $300, or nearly 26%, increase from 2021, when the Lighting defeated the Montreal Canadiens. (Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, fans were not allowed to attend the 2020 Stanley Cup Finals.)

In Colorado, the release states, the average resale ticket price for Avalanche home games during the Stanley Cup Finals is $1,552. The Avs have not appeared in the Stanley Cup Finals since the 2000-01 season, when they defeated the New Jersey Devils in seven games.

The Lightning lost Game 1 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals 4-3 in overtime. Game 2 is Saturday night at Ball Arena in Denver, and then the teams travel to Tampa for Game 3 Monday night at Amalie Arena.
