A farmer in Parrish has put down new roots in Sarasota after purchasing an office building for $1.7 million.
Alan Jones, the owner of 4,000-acre Jones Potato Farm, acquired the building at 8830 S. Tamiami Trail— not even a week after the first inquiry. Ryan McDonald, an adviser for SVN Commercial Advisory Group, managed the deal, according to a statement.
“We’re pleased with how quickly Ryan made this deal happen,” SVN Commercial Advisory Group Managing Director Matt Christian says in the release. “The client approached him, asking about the availability of income property in the area. Within five days, Ryan had this office building under contract.”
The single-story building stretches across 10,060 square feet on roughly an acre within Palmer Ranch, a prominent master-planned community situated on 10,000 acres in south Sarasota County. The seller, the release states, was Pam Rasmussen of North Creek Development LLC.
“This is a well-constructed office building with existing long-term tenants who will remain with the new owner,” McDonald says. “It’s a great location, close to major retailers on Highway 41. About 31,000 cars drive past this property every day.”
