A complement to a former acquisition, Helios Technologies added Taimi R&D Inc. to the growing list of companies that fit under that umbrella.

The Sarasota-based publicly traded company, with $861.9 million in revenue in 2021, made the announcement July 13. Helios is an engineered motion control and electronic controls technology company.

“This is another perfect example of how our flywheel acquisition strategy strengthens our hydraulics and electronics portfolios in order to make us incredibly tough to follow,” Josef Matosevic, the company’s president and CEO, says in a news release.

A Canadian innovative hydraulic component manufacturer, Taimi was founded in 2005. In 2020, the company started a collaborative distribution arrangement with Faster S.r.l., an Italian hydraulic components producer that became part of Helios in 2018.

“Taimi brings a differentiated, yet complementary product line to Helios’ hydraulics platform which enhances our ability to create industry leading solutions that are high value, cost effective and offer safety and environmental benefits,” Matosevic says.

Taimi’s produces ball-less design swivel products that are said to make equipment more reliable as well as increase the life of components. Additionally, the company does its part for the environment as the products reduce leakage, which will be important as Helios has set out to achieve the task of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

“Taimi also brings strong engineering breadth having developed proprietary, scalable technology and solutions-based offerings that are distributed in 34 countries,” Matosevic says. “I am very pleased to welcome the Taimi team to the Helios family.”
