The New College Foundation recently named an investment portfolios consultant as its new board chair.

Alison Gardner is taking the seat on the board, which she has served since 2018. The organization supports Sarasota-based public liberal arts college New College of Florida.

Gardner comes in as a Sage Wealth Advisors consultant for MassMutual Metro New York’s investment portfolios. Prior to that, she was a senior vice president and financial adviser with Morgan Stanley.

“Alison is a fervent New College champion and her commitment to support the college through the work we do at the foundation is truly inspiring,” MaryAnne Young, the executive director of New College Foundation, says in a release. “Her financial expertise and guidance have been invaluable. Her passion for our students’ education and well-being are evident in every decision she makes. Her years of leadership will empower our forward movement toward even a brighter future.”

A 35-year veteran in the investment industry, Gardner received an MBA from New York University Stern School, a Certificat d’Etude from La Sorbonne in Paris, France, and a Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Duke University.

“I’m delighted to accept my new role as board chair of the New College Foundation,” she says. “This is an exciting time for all of us at New College. With Dr. Patricia Okker at the helm, I anticipate transformative growth in our immediate future.”
