Airport’s busy June shatters previous record

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport saw a 7% uptick in passenger traffic.

St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport — also known as PIE, its airport code — served a total of 256,885 passengers last month, a 7% increase over June 2021.

According to a news release, June 2022’s numbers shatter the airport’s previous record, set last year. It’s also the fourth-consecutive month that a passenger traffic record has fallen.

Year to date, passenger traffic is up by 35%, to 1,281,603. That includes 14,248 passengers on international flights.

PIE serves 65 destinations with nonstop flights.
