TAMPA — Food Kitchen, a Phoenix-based chain of seasonally inspired restaurants, opened its latest eatery on Monday at Midtown Tampa, the 23-acre, $500 million mixed-use development under construction at the intersection of Dale Mabry Highway and I-275.

The opening, according to a news release, gives True Food Kitchen five locations in Florida and 40 nationwide. The Midtown Tampa restaurant is located at 3645 Midtown Drive, in the heart of the development, which features 1.8 million square feet of retail and residential space and is designed to link the Westshore business district with downtown Tampa.

True Food Kitchen’s latest restaurant created 130 jobs. The restaurant can seat 127 diners inside and 88 on its covered patio that looks out onto Midtown Tampa’s central square.

Co-founded by integrative medicine expert Dr. Andrew Weil, True Food Kitchen, the release states, limits its menu to anti-inflammatory foods that help diners maintain optimum health.
