TAMPA — Hillsborough County and the Community Foundation of Tampa have established a $5 million fund to assist local nonprofit organizations that have been providing essential “safety net” services to residents during the COVID-19 crisis.

Such nonprofits, according to a news release, have dealt with revenue losses and unplanned costs during the pandemic. The American Rescue Plan-funded Nonprofit Safety Net Program will award financial assistance on a first-come, first-served basis to agencies that apply online by June 10.

There is no minimum revenue amount required to be considered for financial assistance under the program, the release states, and grants do not need to be repaid. Applicants must be physically located within Hillsborough County.

Visit the Community Foundation of Tampa Bay’s website for complete eligibility requirements and to apply.
