SARASOTA — As the end nears for construction of the Sarasota PopStroke location, officials are expecting to fill 70 jobs to help run the entertainment venue.

The Sarasota location is nearly complete with hiring fairs scheduled for Feb. 2-5 and Feb. 7-12 at the Homewood Suites Sarasota Lakeside Ranch. The property is on the east side of the University Town Center Mall in north Sarasota, outside Lakewood Ranch and just west of Interstate 75.

But as one door closes, another one opens. In Tampa to be exact. Construction recently began on the new PopStroke property that’s co-owned and designed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Ventures.

The 13,712-square-foot entertainment venue will include an open-air restaurant with several open decks as well as covered dining areas, bars and a playground. Guests can also expect a beer garden and lobby with retail space. It’s at 25237 Sierra Center Blvd. in the Lutz and Wesley Chapel area, according to a statement.

The venue will feature two 18-hole putting courses that are designed to accommodate different skill levels.

“Tampa is one of the fastest-growing markets in the country and a natural fit for PopStroke as we continue our expansion,” Founder Greg Bartoli says in a news release. “I have always enjoyed my time visiting the Tampa area for countless youth sporting events with my children over the years and have long recognized the need to bring PopStroke to such a dynamic and diverse community.

The PopStroke locations in Florida are being designed by MHK Architects and constructed by Fort Myers-based Stevens Construction.
