The 2022 Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl, the college football playoff game that takes place at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium, will see the Demon Deacons of Wake Forest University take on the University of Missouri Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 23.
Although it’s the 14th edition of the game, the event has been bestowed with a series of colorful names over the years thanks to sponsors that include BitCoin, MagicJack and Beef O’Brady’s. From 2017 to 2019, it was memorably known as the Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl. In 2020, naming rights were awarded to Strongsville, Ohio-based Union Home Mortgage.
Both Mizzou (6-6) and Wake Forest (7-5) are appearing in the Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl for the first time.
“Today, it was my great pleasure to extend invitations to Wake Forest Demon Deacons and the University of Missouri Tigers to the 2022 Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl on Friday, December 23, at Raymond James Stadium,” Executive Director Scott Glaser states in a Dec. 4 news release. “Hosting two outstanding teams and the first-ever SEC vs. ACC matchup in our bowl game history is special. These teams will undoubtedly create an electric atmosphere for students, alums and local football fans. We look forward to welcoming each team and showing why Tampa Bay is the best place to enjoy bowl season action.”
Tickets for the 2022 Union Home Mortgage Gasparilla Bowl start at $40 for lower-level seating. Group ticket package are available by calling 813-301-6900.
