CBRE in Tampa is moving from its longtime home.
The commercial real estate brokerage has leased 17,455 square feet of space at the Heights Union development on North Tampa Street. The firm will take over the entire ground floor as well as a private 1,500-square-foot outdoor space wired for Wi-Fi and with seating in the shade.
The firm is not the only well known commercial real estate brokers to announce moves in the last few weeks. Ciminelli Real Estate Services relocated its offices in July.
CBRE’s move won’t happen until the second quarter of next year, though.
The firm, which currently has 115 employees, has been in its current offices at 101 East Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa for 10 years.
The new space will be part of the firm’s Workplace360 program which, according to CBRE, is “the company’s long-standing approach to workplace strategy for its corporate offices.”
This means the new office will showcase CBRE’s “Future of Work” standards, including “innovative technology and a wider variety of collaborative spaces, designed to support hybrid working.”
The program began in 2012 and is in place at 100 offices worldwide.
The Heights Union is a mixed-use development in the Tampa Heights neighborhood. It’s made up of two 150,000-square-foot office buildings and a 1,500-space parking garage.
As for Ciminelli, it moved into space at what was once known as the as The Venture Center on Kennedy Boulevard in the Westshore District.
The firm bought the three-story office building with a huge mural reading “Suncoast Smiles on Kennedy” on its west side earlier this year for $8.73 million and renamed it 4100 Kennedy. The building, which the firm is also handling the leasing for, is currently being renovated.
Ciminelli was at its previous office on14499 N. Dale Mabry Highway in Carrollwood since March 2013.
The firm employs about 30 people.
