July 2022 will go down as the busiest month for passenger traffic in the history of St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport — at least until next month.

Also known as PIE, its airport code, the facility served a total of 278,618 passengers in July, a 6% increase over July 2021, according to a news release. It's the fifth-consecutive month that a passenger traffic record has fallen.

Year to date, PIE has served 1,545,062 passengers — a 29% uptick — including 15,159 international travelers.

PIE serves 65 destinations with nonstop flights.
