SARASOTA — Doctors Hospital of Sarasota recently announced a new COO.

Keisha Bickham will be stepping into the role to oversee several key departments, facilities, and new projects for the hospital. Bickham was most recently the vice president of operations at HCA Healthcare’s Mountain View Hospital in Las Vegas, where she led a team of more than 500 caregivers. Nashville-based hospital giant HCA operates Doctors, too.

Bickham has more than 20 years experience in business operations, health care and service, according to a statement.

“Having Keisha’s expertise on our team will be a tremendous asset for the community,” says Robert Meade, CEO of Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, in the release. “She will help as we expand and add technology for our robotic surgery program, spine, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, digestive health, and cardiovascular services. All this while we continue to navigate safely caring for our community during COVID-19.”

The release states that Bickham also has experience with emergency rooms, surgical services and performance improvement. She's also a member of the diversity and inclusion committee for HCA Healthcare.

Doctors Hospital of Sarasota, off Bee Ridge Road, was founded in 1967. It supports 155 beds in all private rooms.
