Nonprofit CEO elected chair of statewide vision services group

Lisa Howard will serve as the chair of the Florida Agencies Serving the Blind.

SARASOTA — Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center recently announced that its CEO, Lisa Howard, as been elected chair of the Florida Agencies Serving the Blind (FASB).

FASB’s mission is to provide support to private agencies serving Floridians with blindness and visual impairment, according to a statement. The press release states that FASB helps agencies in Florida provide state-of-the-art professional vision rehabilitation services to enhance the quality of individual and community life.

“We are delighted that our CEO was elected as chair of the Florida Agencies Serving the Blind,” says Angela Abrams, Lighthouse board of directors president, in the release. “Her expertise will provide valuable leadership.”

The Lighthouse Vision Loss Education Center, a nonprofit with over $4.5 million in assets, is designed to educate and empower those affected by vision loss in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, DeSoto and Highlands Counties.
