BRADENTON — An area health care attorney was recently brought on as executive director of a nonprofit in Bradenton.
We Care Manatee named Annie Breitinger to the position. She’s been serving as a board member with the organization since 2014. Prior to that, Breitinger was a health care attorney at Blalock Walters in Bradenton.
“I am indescribably excited to be the new executive director of We Care Manatee,” Breitinger says in a statement. “I was drawn to We Care’s mission when I first moved to Bradenton and joined the board of directors. The organization’s commitment to Manatee County’s patients that fall in the medical coverage gap is so important, now more than ever.”
Breitinger replaces Kathleen Houseweart as executive director.
“Kathleen moved We Care miles ahead through her implementation of updated systems and processes to better and more effectively serve our patients,” says Breitinger in the press release. “She also led our organization through the darkest days of the pandemic, keeping our office open and safe for our patients.”
The organization is built around facilitating free medical care to uninsured, limited-income residents within Manatee County. It was founded in 1999 by the Manatee County Medical Society. According to the release, thousands of residents have received free medical services through We Care Manatee.
