TAMPA —After more than 40 years of doing business in Tampa, a national construction company is settling down in town.

Robins & Morton, an Alabama-based construction company, has opened an office in the Hidden River Corporate Center Two, off of Fletcher Avenue.

The Tampa office is the firm’s third in the state. The others are in Orlando, which opened in 1999 and Miami, which opened in 2015, according to a statement.

Robins & Morton did not say why it waited so long to open in Tampa, but in a statement said it has worked in the city for more than for decades and “has more than $880 million of completed and in-progress work throughout the city in the last ten years,” including a massive expansion at St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Todd Watson, who will run the office and is Robins & Morton’s operation manager, calls Tampa “a thriving city with a unique culture.”

“Between tourism and people choosing to make Tampa their home, we have tremendous confidence in the growth of the area,” Watson says in the statement.

Founded in 1946, Robins & Morton has offices in six states. It specialized in construction of health care, hospitality, higher education, entertainment, sports and government buildings.
