Area homebuilder wins national rising star award

SARASOTA —  Ryan Perrone, owner and co-founder of Sarasota-based luxury builder Nautilus Homes, recently won the 2020 National Association of Home Builders Young Professionals Award for the region encompassing the Southeast United States and Puerto Rico.

The NAHB, based in Washington, D.C., is a federation of 700 state and local associations revolving around homebuilding. The award, according to a statement, acknowledges young professionals’ hard work, achievements, dedication and outstanding potential in the industry. Out of all of NAHB’s 700 satellite associations, 15 finalists were chosen for this award, the release states. The association’s Southeast region includes Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee and Puerto Rico.

"At first I thought I was building a house, then I realized I was building a company, and then I chose to help build a community,” says Perrone in the statement, regarding the honor.

Perrone, who founded Nautilus Homes in 2010, was a Business Observer 40-under-40 winner in 2019. He was named to Pro Builder Magazine’s 40 Under 40 List in 2020, and other recognitions include the NAHB Nationals award for Best Interior Detailing over $2 Million; the Best in American Living Award for Best Design Detail; and the Best In American Living Award for Best Custom House between 4,001-5,000 square feet.
