KnowBe4 buys security firm MediaPro

Purchase will allow Clearwater-based IT security company to expand its privacy and compliance training modules.

KnowBe4, a Clearwater-based Internet Technology company that provides security awareness and training, has acquired MediaPro, which also works in the security training industry.

By buying the Bothell, Wash.-based MediaPro, KnowBe4 will be able to offer its customers a larger amount of privacy and compliance training modules, the company says.

MediaPro builds “customizable, high-quality content and tools that have been used by Fortune 1000 companies to train their teams on compliance, security and privacy.”

“This acquisition presents KnowBe4 with a great opportunity to provide our customers with an adundance of engaging privacy and compliance training content that will benefit their organizations,” KnowBe4 CEO Stu Sjouwerman says, in a statement.

“This is also an opportunity to provide MediaPro’s solid enterprise-level customer base with even more of the award-winning security awareness training content that KnowBe4 currently offers.”

MediaPro CEO Mike Metzger says its business is a “great compliment to KnowBe4’s platform.”

“This customization ability, teamed with MediaPro’s deep library of privacy, security and compliance training content will broaden the choices for KnowBe4’s customers,” Metzger adds, in a statement.

Founded in 2010, Knowbe4 is used by more than 35,000 organizations worldwide.
