BABCOCK RANCH — Babcock Ranch, a solar-powered master-planned community in Charlotte and Lee counties, has passed a new milestone in home sales, with more than 1,000 closings.

The community, according to a statement, now has 1,386 home sales and 1,027 closings. The surge has been fueled by 342 home sales year-to-date, the release adds. Located just northeast of Fort Myers on Babcock Ranch Road/State Road 31, the community began marketing new homes in 2017, with the first residents moving into the town in January 2018.

“Achieving these sales milestones month after month – and sometimes week by week – is an incredible testament to the homes and lifestyle of Babcock Ranch,” Syd Kitson, chairman and CEO of Kitson & Partners, says in a the statement.

Encompassing 18,000 acres, with 19,500 planned residences and 6,000,000 square feet of commercial space, Babcock Ranch is billed as the first solar-powered town in the country. It’s ranked No. 34 on both RCLCO Real Estate Advisors’ and John Burns Real Estate Consulting’s 2020 list of the country’s 50 top-selling master-planned communities.

Construction is nearing completion at Crescent B Commons, the 82,640-square-foot Publix-anchored shopping center at a new entrance to Babcock Ranch about one mile south of the signature Babcock Ranch bridge. “With homes that fit every lifestyle, along with new neighborhoods and Crescent B Commons opening soon, Babcock Ranch continues to fulfill our vision of a vibrant new hometown that’s full of possibilities,” Kitson says. “Whether you’re raising a family or enjoying an active retirement, you’ll find everything you need to stay healthy, active and connected.”

Babcock Ranch offers homes from seven homebuilders in seven neighborhoods.
