BRADENTON — Coastal Orthopedics recently broke ground on a new 34,000-square-foot facility just north of Blake Medical Center in west Bradenton.
The facility will be built on a 4-acre lot and will take the place of the current west Bradenton space when it opens in spring 2022, according to a statement. Coastal Orthopedics is a full-service provider of comprehensive orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, spine care, pain management and physical therapy services. Coastal has had a large presence in east Manatee County for 16 years, the release adds.
“Coastal Orthopedics started as Bradenton Orthopedic Associates back in the 1970s. Our roots are here in West Bradenton, so we're really thrilled to be able to build a new state-of-the-art facility here in West Bradenton where it all began,” says Dr. Arthur Valadie, board president and sports medicine specialist at Coastal Orthopedics, in the press release. “It’s going to be a beautiful facility that will help us take care of our patients in West Bradenton for the long-term and help make their visits more modern and efficient.”
The facility will house physician office space, fluoroscopy suites, a physical therapy gymnasium, a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite, plus room for future expansion. This is Coastal’s second groundbreaking this year.
In March, the health care provider broke ground on its future 88,000-square-foot headquarters facility on 12-acres located on State Road 64, just east of Interstate 75. The headquarters will house clinical services, an ambulatory surgery center, physical therapy department, administrative offices, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), among other services.
The new two-story headquarters facility in east Manatee County is slated for completion in April 2022 and the new location in West Bradenton will open shortly afterward.
“We recognize the tremendous growth in our area and these new locations will provide superior patient experiences for more patients with convenience, while also continuing to serve our patient base from our West location where we started,” Paige LeMay, Coastal Orthopedics CEO, says. “While our new East Manatee facility will help our organization keep up with the growth in that part of the county, it’s important we maintain a presence in West Bradenton.”
