SARASOTA — Southwest Airlines has added seasonal nonstop service between Sarasota Bradenton International Airport and Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport and a second daily flight to Chicago Midway International Airport.
The service between Sarasota and Milwaukee will begin April 17, according to a press release. It is scheduled for Saturdays only through May 8.
A second daily flight to Chicago Midway International Airport will be added starting March 11 and go through May 7.
Southwest Airlines started service at Sarasota Bradenton International Airport Feb. 14. It offers year-round service to Baltimore/Washington, Chicago, Nashville and Houston. Year-round service to Atlanta will start on March 11. Seasonal service to Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Ind.; and Pittsburgh, Penn., will start on March 13.
“It is exciting to see Southwest Airlines continue to add service at SRQ," says Rick Piccolo, president and CEO of Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in the statement. "The Milwaukee destination is a high-demand destination that has done well in the past. The initial community support for Southwest service has been strong and we hope this will continue to result in increased service in the future. We are also happy to see that a 2nd daily flight will be added between SRQ and Chicago during our peak season. Having an additional flight frequency will provide passengers more choices when planning their travels."
Sarasota Bradenton International Airport currently has 10 airlines providing nonstop service to 45 destinations.
