VENICE — National luxury homebuilder Toll Brothers will build Solstice at Wellen Park, a gated community of single-family homes and attached villas within the Wellen Park master-planned development in Venice.

Located in the community’s new Playmore District, Solstice at Wellen Park will have 270 new homes, including attached villas and one- and two-story, single-family home designs, according to a statement. Construction of the Solstice at Wellen Park sales center and four model homes — two villas and two single-family homes — is expected to begin this spring. They will open for tours when sales start this fall.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the prestigious and fast-growing Wellen Park community,” says Chris Ryan, president of Toll Brothers Tampa/Sarasota Florida Division, in the statement. “Wellen Park is known for its commitment to wellness and creating a strong connection among residents.”

Solstice at Wellen Park will be near waterfront shopping, dining, entertainment and amenities within the 175-acre Downtown Wellen District, currently under construction. Expected to open in the third quarter of 2022, phase one of Downtown Wellen will include retail shops, waterfront dining and additional restaurants, a town hall, a kids’ playground and splash pad, a food truck area, a 3-mile health and wellness trail, and an outfitter equipped with e-bikes, paddle boards and kayaks for residents to use on the active lake.

Recently, Wellen Park was named the fourth best-selling master-planned community in the nation by real estate consulting firms John Burns and RCLCO.

Other Toll Brothers new home communities in the Tampa/Sarasota area include Toll Brothers at Venice Woodlands and The Isles at Lakewood Ranch. Livingston Grove, a private, gated community in Lutz, will open this spring and offer one- and two-story estate homes on oversized sites.

Toll Brothers, founded in 1967, operates in 24 states. The company builds luxury residential single-family detached, attached home, master planned resort-style golf and urban low-, mid-, and high-rise communities.

Wellen Park has a mix of residential, commercial and recreational options in three districts: West Villages, Downtown Wellen and Playmore. The community has about 8,000 residents. At full build-out, it is expected to have more than 60,000 residents and 22,000 homes. Mattamy Homes is the developer and majority landholder of Wellen Park.
