Barron Collier Cos. has hired a senior Collier County official to bolster its development services division.

Nick Casalanguida joins the Naples-based firm, which is one of the largest developers and land owners in Southwest Florida, as a senior vice president.

In that role, he is expected to work on planned developments in and around Naples and elsewhere.

Casalanguida, 54, had been deputy county manager since 2015. He joined the county in 2004 in the government’s Growth Management Department. In all, he has 30 years of experience in property development.

“We have a lot of future plans that we’re working on now, both in Ave Maria, Bonita Springs, possibly in Tampa, Orlando and Sarasota and on Florida’s East Coast,” says Blake Gable, Barron Collier’s CEO.

“We determined that as a result we didn’t have the resources we needed for those developments and concluded that the best man around for that role was Nick,” Gable adds. “We’ve worked with Nick for a long time, and we know him to be a man of his word, which is the most important thing to us, along with doing things with integrity.”
