SARASOTA — Sarasota-based Cruise Car recently expanded its factory space from 15,000 to over 50,000 square feet, following a major sales increase.

A press release stated the company’s sales have increased five-fold over the past two years. Additionally, the speciality low-speed, street legal vehicle manufacturer tripled its workforce.

The company attributes its growth to the affiliation with Moke America. Cruise Car is the exclusive North American assembler and distributor for Moke vehicles. The electric, open-air vehicles started as an invention for the British army in the late 1950s.

“We’ve identified a market of people who want more than a street-legal golf cart,” says CEO Adam Sulimirski, in the release. “Our factory-direct service is providing the value that people are seeking in these higher end low speed vehicles.”

Cruise Car currently has over 750 pre-sold Mokes.

Prior to adding the Moke line, Cruise Car ranked as a top government supplier of specialty street legal low-speed vehicles for non-golf applications.
