Atlanta construction company finishes 254-unit Ybor City development

Georgia-based Juneau Construction completes work on Lector 85, one of two Tampa projects in the city where company founders met

TAMPA — Construction on a new, mixed-used development in Ybor City is complete and leasing on its final phase of apartments is beginning this month.

Lector 85, the $39 million development on East 2nd Avenue off of Adamo Drive, includes two four story building with 254 units. According to a statement on the development, the north building will include apartments and lofts built around a 285-space parking garage.

The south building will include a fitness center, pool, lobby and storage rooms. The bottom floor of the building will include space for retail.

According to Lector 85’s website, the complex includes studios one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with rents ranging from $1,573 to $2,769.

The project is one of two in the area recently finish by Atlanta-based Juneau Construction Co.

It completed work on a renovation of Norwegian Cruise Lines’ 35,000-square-foot Tampa training center late last year. The $3.3 million project included a buildout of the Norwegian’s office and administrative spaces and rehearsal and recording studios as well as training rooms where entertainers practice their shows.

While based in Atlanta, Juneau opened a Tampa office in 2019, a city where the company has roots. Owners Nancy and Les Juneau were both living here when they met in the 1980s.

The company also has an office in Miami.  

Juneau was founded in 1997, employs 175 people and has annual revenue of about $250 million.
