CLEARWATER - AmeriLife Group LLC has promoted company veteran Kelly Atkinson to senior vice president.

Atkinson, who’s worked for the Clearwater-based company since 2010, will oversee brand management and creative services.

The promotion, according to a statement, “allows Atkinson to take on more responsibilities in helping to fuel future growth, servicing both the company’s distribution operations and marketing needs across the enterprise.”

The company says that her new duties will include leading a marketing account management team.

AmeriLife is an annuity, life and health insurance firm.

Before joining the company, Atkinson worked at a full-service marketing and communications firm working with several well-known brands, including Beef O’Brady’s and Hooters.

Since coming to AmeriLife, Atkinson has “helped to evolve the company’s marketing communications, brand and creative services capabilities.”

“Kelly has grown with AmeriLife, and her promotion signals a new chapter for our marketing efforts,” Ovi Vitas, the company’s chief marketing officer, says in a statement.

“In her time with the company, Kelly helped to significantly evolve and grow the AmeriLife brand while expanding capabilities and ensuring a consistent brand presence.”

AmeriLife maintains a distribution network of over 200,000 insurance agents and advisors and works with 35 marketing organizations and has nearly 60 insurance agency locations. It did around $300 million in sales in 2019.
