SARASOTA — Hydraulics manufacturer and electronic controls firm Helios Technologies has named John Shea Chief Commercial Officer, a promotion from his role as vice president at a Helios subsidiary, Enovation Controls.
In going from Enovation to Helios, Shea, according to a statement, will be central to Helios’ strategy to leverage the talent of the organization and drive organic growth. This is a new role for Sarasota-based Helios, also the parent company of Sun Hydraulics. Shea’s role will be effective June 1, the release states.
“I am excited to help drive the growth narrative of Helios Technologies,” Shea says in the statement. “We are building on our foundation as a leading specialty niche provider of hydraulics and electronics solutions in a variety of markets and enhancing our competitive advantages through innovation and responsiveness.”
Shea began his career at Borg-Warner and he later oversaw service and was an OEM sales manager at ZF Marine. He joined Enovation in 2014, the release states, prior to Helios acquiring it in 2016. He progressed through several roles there through vice president of Sales.
“John brings significant expertise into this new, critical role for our organization,” Helios President and CEO Josef Matosevic says in the statement. His extensive international experience, ability to drive sales organizations and depth of technical knowledge with customer requirements will be valuable in our efforts to deepen our market reach with our product offerings while expanding the markets we serve as we advance our technologies.
Helios Technologies operates in two business segments, hydraulics and electronics. The hydraulics segment markets and sells products globally under the brands of Sun Hydraulics for its cartridge valve technology, Custom Fluid Power for its hydraulic system design and Faster which provides quick release coupling solutions. Global electronics brands include Enovation Controls and Murphy.
Helios sells its products to customers in over 85 countries around the world. It reported $523 million in 2020 revenue.
