Contractor launches environmental division

Gulf Western Environmental has two experienced managers at the helm of the unit.

BONITA SPRINGS — Gulf Western Group, parent company of Gulf Western Roofing, has formed a new division for environmental consulting.

The unit, based in Bonita Springs, is Gulf Western Environmental, according to a statement. GWE offers a full range of environmental consulting in preserve management, environmental permitting and compliance and wetland determinations, with plans to expand into additional environmental fields such as remediation and marine services, the release adds. The division provides permitting, compliance and land management services including exotic and nuisance species control; environmental restoration and habitat creation; and mangrove permitting, pruning and planting.

“Our experienced GWE team has a passion for the natural beauty that surrounds us throughout southwest Florida,” Gulf Western Group Vice President of Corporate Development Nick Stefanis says in the release. “We believe it is extremely important to achieve preservation with progress, and we strive to implement strategies that benefit both the environment and our clients.” 

Michael LeBlanc and Timothy Schwan, environmental managers with more than 30 years of expertise in projects throughout southwest Florida, will lead the new division, the release states. LeBlanc has more than 13 years of public and private sector project management experience across various disciplines including sustainability, land management, environmental permitting, remediation and environmental restoration and monitoring. Schwan, meanwhile, has conducted multiple land management reviews for state-required compliance at the Cecil M. Webb Wildlife Management Area/Babcock Ranch and the Picayune Strand Restoration projects, among other work.

Gulf Western Group’s additional divisions include new roof construction, maintenance, repair and replacement, property management services and aluminum, solar and energy services.
