TAMPA — The Sinclair Group, a Tampa-based general contractor, has completed work on Florida Avenue Brewing Co.’s new facility in Wesley Chapel, a 38,000-square-foot complex that includes a brewery, full-service restaurant, outdoor beer garden and private event spaces.
Located at 2029 Arrowgrass Drive, the property had been used as a fitness and sports facility but sat vacant for several years. A group of investors led by Joe Redner — a Tampa businessman who owns Mons Venus strip club and helped start Cigar City Brewing and Brew Bus Brewing before becoming an advocate for marijuana legalization — acquired it for $3.9 million last year. The seller was Tatsuya Okawa, a Japanese businessman who runs a Miami-based company called Strong-S USA Inc.
Redner's group, according to the real estate agent who represented Okawa, planned to invest approximately $8.7 million in the property.
According to a press release, architectural services were provided by ASD/SKY.
The Sinclair Group, the release states, has been building restaurants in the Tampa Bay region for 25 years. Its portfolio of clients includes PDQ, Salt Shack on the Bay, La Segunda, Yummy House, Counter Culture and more. The firm, with 22 full-time employees, generated $24 million in gross revenue in 2019, up 2% from $23.5 million in 2018.
