SARASOTA — Norman Love Confections has opened at University Town Center in Sarasota — the first time the prominent chocolatier has expanded outside its Southwest Florida base.
The chocolate salon is at 192 N. Cattlemen Road in the West District at UTC. The salon is the first of its kind, where Norman Love Confections pastry chefs “take the stage,” showcasing their artistic expression and creating beautiful “desserts of art,” while engaging guests in a conversational and gastronomic dessert experience, according to a press release.
The UTC Sarasota location offers the company’s handcrafted chocolates as well as specialty desserts, artisanal baked goods, novelty products and gelato. It will also serve a selection of wines and coffees, the release adds. The salon will sell Norman Love Confections limited-edition holiday collections, available for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Easter and Mother’s Day.
The 2,000-square-foot location, with an outdoor patio, is Norman Love Confections’ sixth location and its first in Sarasota, the release states.
“This has been a long-time dream of mine — to offer an interactive experience featuring artistic yet recognizable desserts that are both delicious and visually captivating,” says Norman Love Confections Founder and CEO Norman Love in the statement. “After dinner, guests can pair a glass of wine or coffee with a delicious dessert presented with a ‘Norman Love’ twist. They will have a front row to an immersive dessert ‘chocolate theater’ of sorts, the first of its kind in our region.”
Norman Love Confections was founded in 2001 by Norman and Mary Love. The company creates and distributes handcrafted artisanal chocolates from its corporate headquarters in Fort Myers. It has chocolate salons in Fort Myers, Estero, Naples and Sarasota, as well as a pastry shop and cafe at Whole Foods Market in Fort Myers.
