TAMPA — Tampa Bay Tech, a nonprofit that supports the region’s tech sector, plans to hold a virtual job fair in response to high unemployment in Hillsborough and Pinellas counties as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

The June 10 Career Expo is being held in conjunction with CareerSource Tampa Bay, CareerSource Pinellas and Recruiter Networking Group of Tampa Bay (RNG) and will be free of charge for job seekers and members of Tampa Bay Tech and RNG, according to a press release.

The event will feature virtual booths where recruiters and job candidates can exchange information, the release states. Job seekers will also be able to research companies and job postings and attend webinars about professional development and other topics.

The job fair runs from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature recruiters from Catalina, CITI, Drift, FIS Global, Foot Locker, Jackson Hewitt Tax Services, JP Morgan Chase, PandaDoc, PWC, Tech Data and Vology, the release states.

“We are excited to work with CareerSource and RNG on this first ever, virtual expo,” states Jill St. Thomas, executive director of Tampa Bay Tech, in the release. “We are committed to providing the network, programming and events like these to keep our talent pipeline primed and our corporate partners thriving.”
